THE RULES AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE HIGH HALL SYNDICATE ON THE RIVER ALLEN
1. Please refer to your map as to where you can fish. The season opens on 1st April and finishes on 30th September.
2. Dry fly fishing only. Up- stream nymph (incl. bead head nymph) fishing allowed but wet fly and downstream fishing prohibited. Barbless or flattened barb hooks must be used.
3. An EA fishing licence is required for members and their guests.
4. Following the decision not to stock, a member may take home 2 or 3 trout in a season but is requested to return larger fish over 14 inches as they are the prime breeding stock.
5. Wading is permitted, but anyone who intends to enter the water, having
fished anywhere else must ensure that waders, nets and other equipment are
both clean and dry . This is to protect the river’s rare, or possibly extinct,
native crayfish from disease.
6. Non –members may fish if:
a) A friend of the member, when they may share a rod and must remain near
to each other.
b) Both the immediate family of and staying with the member : when may
fish unaccompanied as that member’s rod.
c) A guest who must be accompanied by the member and remain within a
reasonable distance. On no more than 5 occasions per season may a
member bring guests to fish
7. Members must take every precaution to ensure the safety of themselves and others
while in the river or on the bank and when fishing or doing maintenance work.
APPENDIX
A. March 1st is the date for payment of the annual subscription.
B. October 15th deadline for the fishing return to be sent to the Secretary.
C. Please inform the Secretary if you wish to take your dog to the river. Please take
care when parking your car so as not to inconvenience the farm tenants and others or
damage farm crops.
D. Please report to the Secretary the sighting of Mink or Pike and the exact spot where seen.
E. The introduction of new members should be made to the Secretary.
F. The decision of the owner of the fishing rights shall have the final decision on the
interpretation and variation of these Rules and Recommendations
